Here are the final illustrations I followed to the end of the animation. I combined the power of vectors from Adobe Illustrator and the power of textures offered by Adobe Photoshop.

I was unsure whether to keep it grayscale or proceed with the colored version. Ultimately, I decided that the emotional significance carried by the green was very important to the message I wanted to convey, so I chose to go with the colored version. But here you can take a look at the grayscale version.
